A Breather
I have been flying the last eight days, and for Sunday the 28th of June I had to fly plus airport sit time for 15 hours.
I was flying back from KOA (Kona,Hawaii the big island) we flew all night (it was a 6 hour flight back) to arrive back in PHX (Phoenix, Arizona) at 7:45 am. Checked my schedule Stand-by C (on call 3 p.m.-3 a.m.) so I thought I would catch the flight to San Francisco due some laundry and work on my revision of my essay.
I was having such a hard time with those two questions… but I got it.
Well, while on reserve we have to always check our line at 4 p.m., so I stopped working on my essay to check my line. I had a trip that started at 7:52 a.m. which is a stand-by A shift not a stand-by C shift. Now I have no way to get in to work tomorrow morning on time so I check the flights last flight on Sunday to Phoenix was at 5:15 p.m. which meant I had 1:15 minutes to get out the door get to the airport and get on the flight to Phoenix.
So now I am even more pressed for time to finish my essay I had to have it in on Monday morning. I got into Phoenix and went over to my friend house to spend the night and work on my essay.
It was 1 a.m. when I finally went to sleep I had now been up 38 hours with only a 2 hour nap before I flew back from Kona, Hawaii. My essay wasn’t finished and I had to be up at 5 a.m. to get ready to go to work.
I did manage to get some, about 30 minutes worth of writing done on my essay but that was it. The rest of the day was work time flying to JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport, NYC). After arriving at the hotel, I hit the computer to finish writing my essay. It was 6:20 p.m. NYC time so that put it at 3:20 p.m. Arizona time. I left a note asking if they could look at my essay, that questions D & F were updated, because I needed it to be posted by the 30th of June.
Well it all fell into place, my essay got graded a great score 3.56 out of 4, and it got posted on the 30th even better. So now I finished the semester ahead class wise, time to crank out this next semester. So my Graduation date of June 2010 is looking great.
I took the day off today doing chores, and spending time with my beautiful girlfriend (my Hot Brazilian Mama) and going to the movies Taking of Pelham 123 (2009), directed by Tony Scott with Denzel Washington John Travolta, and Luis Guzmán. Good movie, I had just watched the Taking of Pelham 123 (1974), directed by Joseph Sargent. with Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, Martin Balsam.
I do recommend seeing both, the 1974 is good because it is 35 years old you get to see how New York looked and how technology has changed, plus the characters really do seem to portray New Yorkers. the 2009 has just as good acting and follows along the same story line.
Tomorrow it is time to catch up on some lost study time. I have not read any good articles in the papers this week let us hope there are some in the morning.
