It has been a busy week

I am sitting back in Phoenix and I know I have not written for a few days, too many in fact.

But I felt I was knee deep stress working on my Accounting essays which by the way I got finished.

I have 2 major test a written an oral presentation left to accomplish my goal of having my MBA and growing.

Things in this world can be hectic, and we end up spending to much of our time focusing on the chaotic instead of moving forward. Then getting stressed because we perceive the problem bigger than it is.

Instead we should take small steps to move into the direction we wish to go, where we want to be next.

Where you look to, Is the direction in which you go.

and As you think, So shall you be.

Though these are easy to say, the difficulty comes in application. Small steps, day by day.

I have felt overwhelmed by my Accounting class, and it took me longer in this class than any other to get started. Because the subject is so foreign to me but I buckled down an applied myself, giving myself no choice but to succeed in my goal. Plus the added stress that I want to start this business within a couple months.

Though I know my essays may need some sprucing up, I feel more confident and look to finish classes by June and the Spirits willing running business.

To all me friends and family especially Mari, thanks for all your help and indulgence thus far.

Have a Blessed Day and remember

The temptation to quit will be the greatest just before you are about to succeed.

I Think its a Beautiful Day in Houston

Since I have not been outside yet I think is nice outside as much as I can see from the window. I have gotten up exercised and studied some and now I am getting ready for work.

I have to mention yesterday I was reading articles in the Wall Street Journal and the AppleInsider during my airport time and or a lack of a better words right now there was an article that pissed me off.

I guess in a good way because on the flight to Phoenix, I got this really great idea for a business that I pretty sure no one has thought of before or I would have already seen it.

Now I really need to bend time, get support from Family and Friends, to get my MBA finished by June and have this up and running before then, God and the Spirits willing.

So with exercising, studying and working on this project, (sorry I can’t talk about it yet, don’t want to give away the goodies) and family I guess I am going to live a Spartan life.

Discipline and time mastery

Exciting times, and these four quote by 3 famous men are the makings of an inspiring day.

“Did you ever observe to whom the accidents happen? Chance favors only the prepared mind.” – Louis Pasteur. (Shorten version, Luck favors the prepared mind)

“When you work seven days a week, fourteen hours a day, you get lucky.”

“We will either find a way or make one” Hannibal (Hannibal’s feat in crossing the Alps with war elephants passed into European legend: a fresco detail, ca. 1510, Capitoline Museums, Rome, incase any one out there is confused who Hannibal is)

“The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Not to meant some great music to get your mood on the right side of excellent.

Downtown Houston

We got in an took the long drive to downtown Houston to the Club Quarters. I have always like the hotel, the rooms are alway clean, neat and very functional not to mention free internet.

They are not in every city because they cater to professional businessmen, but I do like staying in the hotels, we have a few cities we get to say in the CQ mostly in a big city.

But on to the day, I got up early to pick up Mari since she was flying in from her trip and I just decided to stay at the airport because I only had 45 minutes before I had to be there anyway.

So I got at the airport at almost 10:00 a.m., flew to Phoenix at noon, waited till 7:00 p.m. before I was suppose to be there for the trip to Houston then flew to Houston.

By they time we got here and made it to the hotel it was almost Midnight.

14 hours of airport and airplane time today, plus the 2 hours getting ready in the morning totaling 16 hours of my days.

Doesn’t leave much time for my Accounting and writing essays on Ethics.

I am head to bed because I am 3 sheets to the wind.

A New Month with another essay sent

Today is a new month, scary since the days are coming quicker to an end of this class and nearer to the time of graduation at Western Governors University.

First off let me say that I am behind of where I wanted to be, so I need to be able to make up some time somewhere guess I need to learn how to bend time. A dream would be able to take the whole month let say April and just sit here and study. No distractions from work, flying, passengers, or the long hours of commuting.

If I could have the whole month, I would be done easily with classes by June. But sadly unless something changes I have to work because like most everyone else I need money to survive.

If there are any suggestions out in the world wide web send them my way.

I did manage to finish the Task 2 essay and spreadsheet, found a few mistakes tonight so hopefully all will be well with my submission.

The next 2 essay are on ETHICS, always a good topic yet unlike all the other essays there is no page requirements, curious maybe that has to do with ethical practice to see how many pages you submit.

Out of the next 9 days I have a 4 day trip, 1 reserve day and 3 days off then the last day which is the 10th of March. Gotta love the pressure, NOT!

This trip that scheduling gave me is not going to be a fun trip, it is an older 737 everyday and working all 4 days. The layovers are not bad, no long 24 breaks but I am still looking at only 5 to 6 hours sleep on each of them.

Houston, Texas, Spokane, Washington and back to Houston, at least it is cities that I have not been to in awhile. Not that I will be able to peruse the cities as my nose will be in the books and my butt on the aerobic bicycle.

I find it interesting that I can sit here all day studying and not miss the television, even though most times it is on I am doing something else as it is just background mumbo-jumbo.

I have had my music on all day, I had gotten froggy one day awhile ago and fixed up an G4 Apple desktop computer with a 22-inch flat screen and put all my music on it. 5804 songs and a few movies, though I love my old Technique stereo, this is much more fun. It does use the stereo to play the music I just don’t have to get up and change the music since there is enough music for days, 17.2 days to be exact. And trust me I have it backed up on more than one hard drive to much work to replace, or redo it all.

As this is a new month I thought I would talk about my blog for a minute, for January I had 191 unique visitors and 1263 page visits and for February 175 unique visitors and 1135 page visits each month an average of over 40.54 visits per day.

I’m getting famous, haha.

Yes, I know this is not much in the scheme of things but to me its cool, it also looks like I have quite a few people who have bookmarked me in their browsers or by way of email.

Another cool thing is I have made over $14, which is great but I don’t receive any of it till it reaches a $100. Just the way Google operates. Anyway it is still all fun, and just like the classes I am taking, exercising or studying, writing for this blog takes planning and discipline.

All great lessons for a better me.

I haven’t been posting to my blog at Business Week, so much to do and learn. I have ideas for iPad apps, but until I get past this class, Accounting and get to where I feel comfortable that will have to wait.

I am hoping Santa will visit me when the iPads becomes available, I am looking forward to having one for reading books, my arms and back will be happy to since I will be carrying a lot less weight. Plus the ability to email or write notes where it isn’t convenient to open my MacBook Pro.

It is getting Oh dark 30 and I need to finish up things here in the house and be ready for my commute tomorrow, in addition to my 3 hour airport appreciation.

All total tomorrow I will fly from San Francisco to Phoenix to Houston and it will cost me in 14 hours total.

Ok I need to go… see you later
