A Day at the Beach, don’t I wish
Yes sitting at the airport for 5 hours was just a thrill, no it not a day at the beach but I do get to see people I haven’t seen in awhile and that makes it fun.
As always it is hard to study, to much going on. To many conversations all at the same time, it gives you a head ache. So to avoid the talking I went for 1 hour and 40 minutes walk around the balcony, it took 1 minute and or 93 steps to complete. Walking for a 100 minutes = 100 laps or 9300 steps. Actually it felt good.
Nice to have the movement, I need it.
Not much happened at all the rest of the day, I did not pay attention to the news though I did inquire as to the cost of an online subscription to the Wall Street Journal, because the New York Times is thinking of a cost between $9.99 to 30.00 a month.
For the new iPad, which is ridiculous because I certainly wouldn’t pay that amount and I don’t think that they will get many that will pay that kind of money for online reading.
Even with the success of Apple’s iTunes companies have complained about Apple’s pricing strategy of $.99 yet they are now after 7 years approaching 10 billion downloads.
Apple has let some make pricing adjustments, (raise the price) yet download have drop 8 to 10 percent every month since companies have been changing the prices.
Me I really believe $.99 per song is a good price and I have to say that of all the downloads at least 20 percent have been the album anyway not just a song.
But I don’t think corporate America will wake up to that fact, it is always trying to push more and more out of the consumer.
At 5:45 I got on the flight back to San Francisco, totally filled as always. Who says people are not flying. It was a pleasant flight with no real mishaps.
I will have to go back in on Friday, but it leaves me with 2 full days of studying, exercising and scanning.
So I am off for a bit a reading before lights out.
11 hours of Kill time, UGH!
I have spent 11 hours killing tome today, because as I would say I am house lost.
After getting here this morning from Charlotte, North Carolina which was about 10.30 a.m. I went over to the coffee shop to sit and study, since I really have no were else to go.
I fist stop and got my bebe washed, my truck has been very good to me so I am trying to take care of her.
I was getting so tired at the coffee shop, that I was falling asleep while I was reading again, this is becoming such a drag. 3 cups of coffee and I am still tired and could fall asleep at any time.
I stayed until after 4:00 p.m. reading about ESO (stock options) some is starting to sink in thank god. But I have lots more to read for the essays. But I am feeling better about them.
I left to go by a friends restaurant FnB, but he was closed today, I have to say that he made it into the New York Times Sunday Edition, Business section.
Everybody: A Balance Between the Factory and the Local Farm , great article on Pavle, and my hats off to him for serving only Arizona wines at his restaurant, which by the way is in Old Town, Scottsdale. It is a great restaurant with good food and a great host and an excellent chef.
You really should stop in.
After finding that he has taken Mondays off (which is a good thing he works to much) I came back to my friends house, she wasn’t here so I decided to go for a walk, a 3 mile walk which took me about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Not bad I guess, but I know that I needed the exercise. I have to get back into it.
Then I just waited til my friend showed up at her home. So that was my 11 hours of killing time with no where to really go.
That is why I feel home lost. It really is not a comfortable feeling.
So tomorrow I have HR 4, noon till 5:00 p.m. sitting at the airport, which the only thing they can use me for is boarding planes or a turn. Maybe I’ll get to go home at 5, one never knows.
See you tomorrow at the airport.
Beautiful Day
It has been a beautiful sunny day in Phoenix, while the east coast is getting hammer with snow. I am sure that the airlines are getting behind with snow major delays.
It has been a relaxing day, I tried to get some Accounting done but I have been as some would say “a little down” so it has been hard to concentrate. Just like work, scheduling controlling my schedule it ways heavy on my attitude.
Just found out the snow storms have changed my trip tomorrow, actually this is for the better. Instead of 2 legs a day (Phoenix – Chicago – Philadelphia) then back the next day. Now it is just Phoenix – Chicago overnight for 16 hours, which is cool because I can get some exercising and homework done.
A bright spot.
I was reading Business Week, and the article “The MBA, a Little Less Taxing” by Francesca Di Meglio, it is a good article to get you prepared for the tax season. I know I get to do my taxes different this year because of school, so it is a good reminder of how to get prepared.
I have to start getting all my receipts in one place, so I can get some help at the beginning of the year.
I also need to organize my life a little better, just feel that things are getting out of control. Mostly because of work where I can’t control my schedule.
I did get to read all the news today, even the Wall Street Journal from yesterday. One of the articles in the Los Angeles Times was about The Huffington Post and it making a profit. It also said that it receives 9 million unique visitors a day behind the New York Times that receives 16.6 million unique visitors a day. That would be so cool to have 9 million unique visitors a day. I am happy when it hits 40 to 50 unique visitors a day.
I am not sure I will hit that status with this site because next June I will be finish getting my MBA.
I sure enjoy writing even though some days it is hard to keep up. But just like my classes it is the same as I say.
I am my own taskmaster and my own slave
Discipline and persistence.
