Changes in Weather means flexible in Plans
Changes in the weather have been causing people to be flexible in their plans. Like me they have been working me everyday, crazy between the weather and flight attendants calling in sick it causing me to keep revising my plans.
Saturday I spent in used computer stores, and updating my old Apple G4 Tower so I can use my film scanner and backing up all my music on it. Than sat around that night watching movies with Mari’s son. Sunday I left on the early flight 6:00 am San Francisco to Phoenix, because I heard weather was coming. Not wanting to stress about having to get to Phoenix on Sunday because of weather delays I opted for the early flight.
Well the weather didn’t get to San Francisco or Phoenix on Sunday but Monday.
Sunday was a nice day, worked on cleaning my can and studying needless to say my car really really needs a wax job. Later that night I went to see Armored with Matt Dillion and Laurence Fishburne, not a bad movie, enjoyable with plenty of action.
Monday, again stars this major flexible concept, had to go sit at the airport for 5 hours 2:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. Well are shift was almost over scheduling assigned us a trip a San Diego turn (fly there turn around and fly home). So much for studying today.
Well we get to the plane and the had just lifted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) weather delay, now we were just waiting for the pilots to come in from home. We found out some of the story, the flight was coming in from Atlanta someone had put a baby diaper in the toilet. Airplane bathroom, especially the toilets can not handle anything like that so, it got clogged. In Phoenix they tried to fix it, they couldn’t so maintenance did all the official paperwork so the plane could go to San Diego and back, which then they could tear it apart.
Well now since they are late (comedy of errors) the flight gets delayed because of weather in San Diego, once they are in the air more delays, so the flight is now circling over Gila Bend, Arizona. Then has to do a return to Phoenix, bummer for the passengers.
This is now where we pick it up, pilots are there and we have the flight boarded for the second time. I had been trying to get the other toilet to flush, which people had been using. It is now clogged, so maintenance gets us another aircraft.
We all have to deplane and go to the other aircraft, I feel bad for the passengers because they are starting to get grumpy, and who wouldn’t. Yet this started out being cause by a diaper a passenger put in the toilet, then the weather and now the toilet again.
Were rolling toward San Diego, most passengers are in a fairly good mood, major turbulence during take off and landing. But we arrived although late, the passengers were just happy to be there.
A very light load going back to Phoenix, after takeoff we get diverted to Las Vegas to pick up passengers that have had their flights delayed or cancelled. After our pickup in Las Vegas heading to Phoenix again lots of turbulence.
We got into Phoenix at 2:16 a.m., 4 hours later than scheduled.
Not much sleep and no studying, I was hoping to be able to sit here at Winfield’s drink some coffee and get a lot of studying done.
Nope, I have a 3 day trip so I have to get going.
